Give your agent a wallet

Coinbase Payments MCP adds a wallet to your agent. You set the spending limits in the wallet app, and the agent cannot change them.

1. Install it and pick your client when asked:

   npx @coinbase/payments-mcp

   For Claude Code without the prompt:

   npx @coinbase/payments-mcp --client claude-code --auto-config

2. Open the wallet, set the limits, and add a few dollars of USDC on Base.
3. Ask your agent to use 7Maps. When the day's calls without charge are used, it pays the per-call price shown in the 402 answer.

Your own agent (Node.js)

The official x402 client pays any 402 answer automatically. Fund the wallet with only what you are willing to spend: its balance is the limit.

Package: @x402/fetch. Keep the key in an environment variable, never in code you commit.

Prices

Current prices are always returned by list_paid_tools and /.well-known/x402. A call that fails is not charged. Placement on the map cannot be bought.
