AWS Proton goes dark on 7 October. Its data goes with it.

What happened

AWS ends support for AWS Proton on Wednesday, 7 October 2026. After that date the Proton console and Proton resources are no longer accessible, and AWS says all Proton data will be deleted. Deployed CloudFormation stacks and the resources they manage keep running.

Why it matters

Your services keep serving traffic. The pipeline that deploys them does not. The next hotfix routed through Proton has nowhere to go, and any template you never exported is gone with the data.

What to do

If you still use Proton, export your templates and list every environment and service today. Then move deployments to CloudFormation Git Sync, CodePipeline and CodeBuild, or GitHub Actions, the paths AWS lists.

AWS closed sign-ups a full year ago. A year of notice still ends in one night, and the clock now counts hours.
